SAFRAN/CEA robot for aeronautical parts
SAFRAN and CEA-List automate aeronautical parts inspection. In early June, the aeronautics giant and the specialized digital research laboratory presented a computer-controlled robotic machine composed of two arms that rotate around the part so as to inspect its surface from every angle. "The parts is heated by a few degrees for a handful of milliseconds, explains Frédéric Vétil, director of digital transformation and industry 4.0 at Safran. When the part cools down, the thermal camera films it: if an anomaly is present on the surface, it appears on the image."
